Arrival

After staying in all day expecting the delivery around late lunch, the Caterham truck eventually turned up around 5:15. This at least gave me time to finish of some of the electrics and set out the trestles I had borrowed from Darren Elmslie.  All the way waiting around had made me even more excited and nervous at the same time.

My main concern was that I wouldn't really like the colour, but when the door was pulled up revealing the back of the car I was over the moon as the colour was really cool.  After a quick chat with the driver (nice chap) everything was quickly unloaded and deposited in front of the garage except for the car itself. It was as gourdy as I expected and the pearlescent effect makes it have a yellow tinge to it.

On immediate inspection it seems that Caterham are now offering the black wheels even though they assured me they wouldn't (link). So now I have 2 sets, but looking at the wheels side my side the Superlites look a bit better made and the 'spokes' are more defined. Of more interest is the fact that they have come shod with Yokohama 021's rather than the 032's I was expecting.  However upon checking the pro forma invoice it does state 21's.

Also I was told that they didn't do black interiors but mine came with the black interior so I am a happy bunny.

The only thing I am not happy with so far (and I think it is my own fault) is that the kit has come with the standard exhaust not the competition 4-1.  I was under the impression that 'superlights'  came with this as standard, but again checking my invoice and order form it is never mentioned.  I will call Caterham to confirm this tomorrow.  Whilst being disappointed with this, unless I go for engine modifications above the standard supersport kit I think I should not be hampered too much, and it is an  easy mod later on.

After a quick inspection of all the boxes everything was brought inside and there are now bits all over the house, including our living room which I think is a bit of a coup!

Next step is to get the SVA application in, do a quick inventory to see if I have any missing parts (apart from the ones they have told me about)

bullet Gear Lever
bullet Lambda sensor
bullet EXP Bottle (what ever that is)
