Extras

Due to various reasons I was unable to get my exact spec of car from Caterham that I wanted. Also through knowledge gained from other 7 owners plus my experiences in my previous 7 I also bought some extras for my build some useful others purely cosmetic, this are detailed below.

Black Wheels
As mentioned elsewhere Caterham could not at the time of my order supply my car with black wheels and polished rims. I wanted this colour combination as my car was going to have black details such as natural finish carbon fibre, black FIA bar and the black pack (windscreen, headlamps, exhaust protector), and I thought the black (versus silver) would look good.  By co-incidence someone was offering a bulk ordering of pukka superlight wheels via BlatChat, and so I placed my order and the wheels duly arrived around 1 month later, and they look fantastic.

(cost including VAT + delivery aprox £270 for 4 wheels)

Tyres for the Wheels
Obviously I needed some rubber to go on the new black superlites, I decided to go for the same tyres as to be supplied with the kit, Yokohama A032s (185 * 60 *13).  The best deal around was George Polley who delivered them within 24 hours for free.

(cost including Vat was aprox £240 for 4 tyres)

Tax Disc Holder
I was planning to get a carbon fibre tax disk holder, however when I went to watch the British Superbikes at Donnington Park courtesy of Reve Red Bull Racing I spotted a black anodised holder and I snapped one of these up for £14.  The holder comes with allen key and spacer and can be order from OEM-UK

Plastic Wing Bolts
Usually the rear wings are either riveted or bolted onto the aluminium of the body.  This is fine until you have an accident where something or someone hits your wings and then it can cause nasty damage to the aluminium (as well as the wing)Using plastic bolts reduces the chances of this damage as hopefully the plastic bolts break first. Thanks go to Roy Booth on the 7's list for organising a bulk buy.

Silicon Hoses (RED)
Due to Caterham being a bit daft I had to buy the Silicon hoses separately, (it was cheaper than ordering them with the kit!).  Not only do these look great they also are far easier to fit.
