As I took the previous
weekend off from building I had done no more to the car
since the previous week , however I managed to progress
last night, with some easy jobs. Some of them where
fixes due to incorrect fitting on my part.
1. First off I removed
the radiator and placed some large washers between the
rubber bushes and the radiator as the fan housing was
fouling on the Front ARB.
2. moved the tighteners
on the jubilee clips that hold on the exhaust protector so
they would not ever hit the bodywork.
See here what can happen, and also a very nice home
made carbon fibre protector by
Peter Simons
3. Removed the submarine
and turned it around the correct way so as to give as much
clearance over the dry sump pulley. There is a flat
section to the submarine and this should go closest to the
engine.
4. Finished off the water
plumbing and expansion tank. Subsequent to this I
shortened the hose going from the expansion tank to the
submarine as it looked like it may cause some air lock
issues. I think this was mainly to do with the fact
that I had tie wrapped up the silicon hoses to one of the
cross members and was now higher that it would normally
be.
5. Attached the fuel
pipes in the engine bay
6. Fixed in the lambda
sensor
7. plugged in a few
wires, whatever looked like it would fit
8. front brake pads
fitted. I was concerned that this was too easy and
that the pads rattled a lot. This was resolved when
we put fluid in the system and bled the brakes.
