My original plan was to go for the fantastic looking R500 Wheels with Avon CR500 tyres.R500 wheel and tyre  These are incredibly light magnesium wheels and the tyres and been specially designed by Avon for the R500. Biggest problem was cost, it was around 640 pounds to get these instead of the standard Minator and Yoko 032 tyres.

Also with my standard 1.6K supersport there was also the fact that I may not be able to use the extra rubber as the tyres are some what fatter than the standard spec, and hence not be as much fun on the track :-)

Avon ACB 10Traditionally Superlight models have been shod with Avon ACB10's, these are road legal race tyres, but Caterham now supply the car with Yoko 032 and it was a 160 pound upgrade for the ACB10's. Although the ACB10's have far superior grip to the 032's they are not as good in the wet, and as I intend to use the car in all weather then the decision to not to upgrade at this point was not too difficuly.

As mentioned elsewhere I wanted my wheels black so I bought prior to my build 4 Superlite wheels and an extra set of 032's to on them. My original wheels will either by kept as spares or sold.

Superlites and 32's(Superlite wheels with yoko 032 tyres for a 'sporty drive')
